Every equestrian knows someone has suffered from equestrian theft. Equestrian crime prevention is the key so at NECD, we knew we had to take an innovative and strategic approach to unite forces and develop a world class system to fight escalating crime.

We found out what you, the equestrian and horse owner really wanted. We embraced existing crime prevention businesses such as Farmkey and Chiptrac and we recommend their services as an essential part of the process of identifying and tracking stolen horses and items. We engaged with all UK equestrian insurance companies to find out what sort of crime problems they were facing and to integrate their needs into our service. We met with all the UK police forces to capture their requirements and for the first time now provide them with nationwide tracing facilities from county to county. And we developed open system architecture compliant with the world class ISO 27001 data security standard to enable us to embrace other databases of stolen items and to protect your data.

NECD has made crime prevention history by pioneering a new organisation, an all encompassing approach and a sound business ethos to an age old problem. This unique approach comprising valuable free services and low cost membership fees ensures that everyone benefits from our service and association with us; the equestrian community, our members, our charities, our partners and above all our horses.
